上一頁下一頁

Special Features
The Shen-gou Water Eco Park occupies 21 hectares of hinterland in Yuanshan Township, Yilan County, of which man-made equipment makes up only a tenth. The site still maintains a water conversation forest and water purification facilities. After an inspection of the park’s springs and walking paths was completed in 2009, it was opened to the public, immediately becoming the top site for visiting school groups to engage in water resources and wetland preservation studies. In 2010, the number of visits to the area exceeded 5,200, and it is now a major recommended site for ecology, water resources and wetlands education. You can make a stop at the park part of a trip that includes a visit to King Car Leisure Farm and the Shengyang Leisure Farm.

Brief Introduction
1. The park possesses vast ecological, hydrological and historical resources, including water conservation forests, an outdoor hydrology museum, aqueducts, and aquatic plants. This diverse wetland environment forms the ideal platform for a firsthand study of nature.

2. In the park area you’ll find 45 different species of birds including the protected Maroon Oriole. The area’s forests also serve as an excellent habitat for breeding insects and amphibious animals. Moreover, the quality of the water is highly suited to the preservation of protected fish species such as the Taiwan torrent carp and Crucian Carp.

3. One of Taiwan’s seven high quality water treatment areas, the park has two water resource networks, which in May 2005 received ISO 14001 international certification.
